Overview
Way2Save® is our automatic savings program. It's easy and convenient. Plus, you will get paid to save along the way.
Here's how it works.—View Demo
We'll transfer $1 from your Wachovia checking account to your Way2Save® account when you:
- Make Check Card purchases.
- Pay bills online, including through Online Banking with BillPay note 1.

- Set up automatic debits made from your checking account.
To build balances even faster, you can set up an automatic transfer, up to $100 each month, from your checking account to your Way2Save® account.
Get paid to save.
We want to help you save. So, for the first three years, Wachovia will give you something most basic savings accounts don't—an annual bonus. note 2
The first year, we'll give you a 5 percent bonus on what you've socked away. Keep saving, and in the second and third years, we'll pay a 2 percent bonus on the dollars you have contributed within each year. In addition, for the first year, you'll earn 5.00% APY on every dollar saved, and 2.00% APY on the second and third years of your savings. note 2

What do I need to be eligible for Way2Save®?
You must have a Wachovia Check Card and any Wachovia Checking Account. The Command Asset Program and Small Business Checking accounts are not eligible to be linked to the Way2Save® program.
What's the minimum balance requirement for the Way2Save® account?
There is no minimum balance requirement in the Way2Save® account. There is also no initial deposit required.
How much can I transfer through a recurring, automatic transfer into my Way2Save® account each month?
You can transfer up to $100 per month into your Way2Save® account through a recurring, automatic transfer. Call 800-WACHOVIA (800-922-4684) or visit your local Financial Center to set up a transfer.
What banking transactions are considered "qualified" that generate the $1 Way2Save® transfers from my Wachovia checking account to my Way2Save® account?
- All purchases made by Check Cards linked to your checking account.
- All bills paid online, including Online Banking with BillPay or automatic debits from your checking account.
Online payments that post to your account as paper checks are not considered qualified transactions, and will not generate $1 transfers from your Wachovia checking account to your Way2Save® account.
Will I see $1 transferred for each qualified transaction?
At the end of the posting day, we will total the number of qualified transactions that posted and create a single transfer for the total amount from your checking to your Way2Save® account. For example, if you had three qualified transactions post in one day, you will see a $3 Way2Save® transfer from your Wachovia checking account that will be posted to your Way2Save® account the next business day.
When will the dollars move out of my checking account and deposit into my Way2Save® account?
At the end of each day, the eligible transactions that post to your checking account are totaled and a single transfer will be made for that amount. For example, if a Check Card purchase and online bill payment post, a $2 Way2Save® transfer will be made out of your checking account. The next business day, you will see a $2 deposit into your Way2Save® account. Our processing days are Monday through Friday excluding weekends and holidays.
Can I take money out of my Way2Save® account without a penalty?
Yes, there is no penalty to withdraw funds from the Way2Save® account. You have full access to the funds. The Way2Save® account is subject to Regulation D. Federal regulations limit third-party transactions or pre-authorized transfers (including overdraft transfers) or transfers made by personal computer (including Online Banking) or telephone from the customer's account to six per month, no more than three of which may be by draft or debit card. If this limitation is exceeded on a regular basis, Wachovia is required to close the customer's Way2Save® account.
Can you remove my joint account holder's Check Card from the program?
In the Way2Save® Program, $1 is automatically transferred from your checking account to your Way2Save® account for each Check Card purchase transaction made by you, a joint owner, or authorized signer of the checking account. You do have full access to those funds and can transfer the funds back over to your checking account at any time.
Where can I find more frequently asked questions for the Way2Save® product?
You can find more frequently asked questions about Way2Save® in the Personal Finance FAQ or more detailed information in the Way2Save® Agreement.
